The Friends
Since the group was formed in February 2021, we have worked hard to make the park feel safer, cleaner and accessible for all. FoGP have organised various community events in the park from litter picks to conservation work in the park.
We have worked closely with residents, local police, the council parks department and many organisations to bring investment and development into the park.
We are proud to receive The Community Impact Award at the West Midlands National Park Awards 2021.We continue to strive in making Georges Park a safe hub for the local community of Lozells.
Our objectives
- To be open to everyone with an interest in Georges Park, bringing together the whole community to be a voice for the site.
- To promote the well-being of local residents and park users
- To promote the conservation, protection, education and improvement of the physical, natural and social environment of the local area, in particular Georges Park.
- To conserve the historic landscape.
- To encourage whole family participation and attract more users to the site.
- To be a non-political multi faith group
- To safeguard its natural beauty, biodiversity and historic heritage.
- To pursue the improvement of facilities at Georges Park for the benefit of Birmingham residents, recreational users and visitors.
- To promote art culture, sport, and craft for the benefit of Georges Park, the local residents and the site users.
- To encourage cleanliness, care and safety of Georges Park.
- To create a family friendly environment.

If you would like to join the Friends of Georges Park then please get in touch. The group consists of volunteers who mainly live around the park. We are always looking for more local residents to join the group and take part in community activities in the park. If you are not from the area but have a passion for green spaces then you are also welcome to join.
